Shanta Mauney founder of Mauney Business Communications offers her clients more than 20 years of business communications and public relations experience. She has worked in various industries, including broadcast television, manufacturing, general aviation, wireless communications, energy, oil and gas, hospitality, and non-profit. During her career, she managed public relations, day-to-day communications, and crisis communications for major, medium, and smaller independent organizations. She is skilled at handling organizational change, stakeholder engagement programs, new product launches, and public relations campaigns to support brand awareness and brand repositioning. She is also adept in community affairs, coordinating with first responders, developing press statements, creating content for dedicated digital platforms, and providing on-the-ground support for families impacted by a crisis. As an experienced media and crisis trainer, Shanta has helped many clients prepare for media interviews and public presentations. Before forming her company, Shanta was the manager of employee communications for one of the world’s largest manufacturers of industrial and medical gases. As a communications leader, she was responsible for more than 4,000 employees located at more than 250 facilities across the U.S. Previously, she worked for large, global, and smaller independent PR agencies where she managed public relations activities for clients in consumer and industrial markets. Shanta earned a bachelor’s degree in public relations with a minor in business from North Carolina Agricultural & Technical State University.
